Who is this class suitable for?

Beginners to intermediate makers

 

What will I make?

 You will make a sterling silver necklace made up of different handmade elements. You can choose to work to one of my design sheets or to come up with your own design. Each necklace will be unique as you select and layer your own design.

 

What will I learn?

You will experiment with different design ideas and come up with a uniques design to suit you. You'll learn to cut and shape metal and add texture using a rolling mill, hammers and stamps. You'll learn how to form metal using doming blocks and how to create solid and open forms. We'll use hand torches to solder pieces together. We will explore different metal finishes including polishing, oxidising and matt finishes.

 

What is included?

All tools and equipment are provided.  Your class fee includes enough silver to create a necklace.

Each student will have a sheet of silver measuring 3 x 4cm, a 16" or 18" chain and  assorted wire and findings to complete the necklace.

 

Extra silver will be available to purchase on the day if required.

If for any reason the class doesn't run you will receive a full refund.

 

If you cancel your booking one month or more before the class begins you will receive a 50% refund.
