Metal and Textile Jewellery

Explore exciting techniques with two tutors for the price of one! Ruth Singer and Alys Power have been collaborating on a new collection of metal and textile jewellery. This workshop gives you the opportunity to try out simple metalworking including cutting, shaping, drilling and enamelling onto metal. In the afternoon you will work into your metal pieces with stitching, needlelace and braiding techniques to create an amazing bespoke pendant or brooch.

All materials are included, but please bring along your treasures that you may want to add to your work such as fabric scraps, broken jewellery, ribbons or buttons.

Beautiful Bird Brooches

When: 1.30pm - 4.30pm, Saturday 19th October 2013

Where: The Beetroot Tree, South Street, Draycott

Cost: £40 per person 

Create your own little winged creature from recycled materials either to your own unique design or using one of the templates provided and learn how to use a jewellers piercing saw to cut them easily and accurately from aluminium.

Stamped features and details will be added and a stainless steel brooch pin will be riveted or glued onto the piece.

 We will then add hand stitched felt embellishments to finish the piece.

All materials are provided but feel to bring your own bits of jewellery, tiny objects or textiles to really make your creation your own.

Speciality classes, parties and workshops

If you are celebrating a special birthday, looking a fun and informal activity for a hen party, work outing or just a group of friends, email me to arrange a  jewellery making party of your own. I have a selection of items to make or request your own. Parties can be held in a venue close to you or even in your own home. Prices from £25 per head for a two hour workshop, minimum of five guests. Every guest receives a 10% discount on jewellery purchases.
